Joaquín Segura’s work comprises installation, action, intervention and photographic work. His highly diverse oeuvre meditates on violence, political change and the role of ideologies in our current sociopolitical climate. His production is visibly concerned about the nature of power and political apparatuses, constructing a practice deeply fascinated by the fissures and contradictions in social superstructures and the crucial role these have played in the globalisation of political crisis, mainly explored through constant references to specific historical events. Through his unpredictable works, Segura aims to reach an art of destabilisation, elaborating a poetic of sabotage, which relates to impotence, denial & deception.
